Always consider the following when building a plan:

Community or audience:

  • Who are you trying to reach?
  • How would you like to engage them in your project? Tell their stories, answer questions, of comment on an issue? 
  • How do they like to communicate? Social media? WhatsApp? 

Technology and platforms

  • What digital platforms are you using to capture your stories and outcomes? A website, a video, a photo journal?
  • What is needed to tell your story? Is there equipment or software to achieve my goal?
  • What social media platforms will you use to engage your community?

Content

  • What formats will you be using to tell my story and the stories of those you talk to?
  • What unique ways can you capture stories? Photos, live video, infographics? 
  • How will you ensure that the content that you capture is of high quality and adds value to your project?
